I used to get a lot of these paperback books before I started using Kindle so I read so many of these but this book was the one paperback that I actually kept and read multiple times. I thought I'd just give it a try to look for this on Kindle and was surprised and happy to find it. Of course I read it right away when I ordered it and finished it in about 2 days LOL. I just really love this story. I understand being an outcast in school felt like but I love that the one person Zoe could count on in high school, sort of partner in crime, was really the love of her life which is Dex. He loved her back then and even more so as an adult. Since he completely changed, she didn't recognize him at first, lol she actually thought he was gay. But time, after she graduated, had gone by and the communication between them during that time was non-existent. So the one guy that grounded her world in high school would end up rocking her world as they were adults. This book is part of a series so there is a backstory in the beginning and end, I am curious about what occurs with the other books in the series so I'll probably check those out because I was not given the books in this series when I was a Harlequin Blaze customer which was a bummer but now I know I can get these on my Kindle app, I think I'll check them out.

Zoe Gaston and her sister-in-law, Meghan, are having margaritas. Meghan is trying to talk Zoe into going to her ten year reunion. Zoe did not have a good high school experience. She was voted the girl to most likely die a virgin, attended her prom alone and was queen of geek chic to name a few. Meghan keeps encouraging her to attend and finally admits that her brother’s company is in trouble. You see Zoe will do anything for her brother as he put is life on hold when their parents died and moved back to Idaho so Zoe could finish high school. Her brother is trying to get Gandalf the Gaming Wizard to work for him, but no one knows who he is. The best idea is that it is someone from Zoe’s class. The reason he thinks this is because one of the games shows places around their town in Idaho and a girl character is like Zoe named “Sweet Cheek.” If Zoe can figure out who he is, then maybe her brother can save his company.

The only person Zoe really wants to catch up with is her best friend, Dex, who was a geek with her. His parents own the hotel where the reunion is taking place. Unfortunately she has not kept up with him for the last ten years, but it looking forward to seeing him again. Zoe and Dex have grown nicely into their adult bodies. Zoe doesn’t even recognize Dex at first. Dex has always had a crush on Zoe, and feels this is his chance to get her to notice him as more than a friend. You need to read the book to see what happens.

I felt sorry for Zoe on how a lot of the people still treated her after ten years. You would think they would have grown up some. But there were a few people whose egos would not let them grow. Dex was a great guy, but did not have a lot of self confidence when it came to Zoe. I loved Dex’s grandmother. She was a riot and someone I would love to know! I really enjoyed the book. I was given a copy of the book for an honest review.
Loved this story. Loved tough little Zoe and her determination to save her brothers comany. Dex turns out to be someone she doesn't recognize. I love how he tricked her with the costume.
I love this book. It was my first time reading Tawny Weber but it won't be my last one. This is a very sexy story between two best friends ( Zoe and Dex) that are reunited in a high school reunion after ten years. The characters are well developed and every page is a turn over. Highly recommended.
I have become a BOG fan of Tawny Webber's books, and this was another feather in her writing cap. Great book, LOVED it! I have been hooked into this Harlequin series, Dressed to Thrill. All the stories center around a mix up in a costume rental. It's a fun and sexy read that I highly recommend. I listened to the audiobook, which I loved so much, I also bought a paper copy!
Wow, the sex scenes in this book were very, very steamy! I didn't expect HQ Blaze novels to venture into (light) bondage and stuff like that, but I should have seen it coming when I found out that the heroine wears a dominatrix costume to go to her high-school reunion party. That was all good and sexy, but the story as a whole didn't work too well for me.

My biggest problem was its "high-school vibe" all the characters in this book, from the geeky hero and the angsty heroine to the arrogant football jock and the jealous cheerleader, acted like they were still in their teens and not in their late twenties, and I didn't care for it. Dex was sexy but too "needy" for my taste, Zoe was nice but too hung-up on her dreadful high-school years, and I felt that their relationship was unbalanced (his love was stronger than hers). My favorite character in the story was Dex's grandmother - the woman was a hoot! - and it's never a good sign when I'm more interested in reading about a secondary character than in following the H/h's relationship.

Overall, this was a so-so book that was "saved" by the love scenes. If you're in the mood for a titillating read and don't mind the teen angst, go for it.
